Layer 2 scaling solution Polygon has maintained strong network activity even as the broader cryptocurrency market and its native token, MATIC, experienced a downturn in the second quarter of 2024, according to a new report from market intelligence platform Messari. The “Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio” is a popular indicator that, in short, measures the deviation between the total value held by the investors of an asset (that is, the market cap) and what they used to purchase it (the realized cap). When the value of this indicator is positive, it means the holders of the given coin as a whole are currently holding net unrealized profits.
